Can I ask if I start taking these remedies should I stop the ppi?

H. pylori not always turn off your acid production. The natural remedy that works for someone doesnt mean it will work for you.

If you are taking antibiotics, then you shouldnt try the vinegar "remedy". Antibiotics work better in neutral environment. That's why you are asked to take PPI. Some doctors are conservative and give just enough PPI and get a treatment failure. To treat nasty H. pylori, you will need very strong PPI.

If you are already having ulcer, reflux or heart burn, meaning you already have lots of acid, then you also shouldnt try the vinegar "remedy". You need to protect your throat and teeth from the acid burn.

I am finished my antibiotics now though, waiting to be tested but need to be off the ppi to get tested so thought it might be worth a try to relieve reflux symptoms that are still persisting?

The standard protocol is to switch PPI to H2 blockers.

You can continue H2 blockers until the night before the breath/stool test.

then switch back to PPI until your reflux symptom is relieved.

I need to switch from twice a day ppi to either famotifine 40mg or cemiterdine 400mg. How many should i take daily for 14 days before the test day?

My gastroenterologist says that stopping ppi is not necessary for histology of biopsy taken in endoscopy because bacteria will be seen under the microscope
