stool test is as accurate. But all test is relying on good technician who knows what they are doing.

two weeks without PPI is enough for the stool test.
Hi Helico expert. I had H. Pylori and did the triple therapy with Amox, Clarithro & Protonix. I finished and waited two weeks after the protonix to do the breath test, it came back negative. It's been 6 weeks since my triple therapy. Do I need to do another one after a month off of antibiotics? Or should I just be happy that the first treatment worked? Also, I still don't feel hungry most of the time and have lost 25 pounds during this 3 month ride. Stomach still gets a little discomfort and I burp so much, my Primary doctor says it'll take time and just told me to take Omeprazole for 14 days to help with acid. Thanks for any information you can provide.

Breath test is usually quite accurate. However, it would be good to know how negative is your negative result.

I dont think you need to check again within 6 months. I agree with your doctor, give yourself a bit of time to recover. and Omeprazole too. take it if you have acid problem.

How come test was done 2 weeks after treatment ended? I have read it must be minimum of 4 weeks after antibiotics to get an accurate result?

Even Breathtek instructions indicate “ 4.4 False negative test results may be caused by:
• Post-treatment assessment with the BreathTek UBT less than 4 weeks after completion of treatment for the eradication of H. pylori”

My primary doctor said that the breathe test results were accurate after being off the PPI for two weeks, which is the reason why I tested so early. I just wanted to confirm that with Helico Expert among the other things in my post.
