Gastroscopy completed

Post by Tweenie »

So, I just got home from my test and the findings were irritation and biopsies were taken. What exactly does this mean? Gastritis? Could it be anything more serious? My last breath test indicated that the triple therapy did not work and my GP sent me for the test to confirm HP. I have to wait for two weeks for the results.

Any information you can pass on would be appreciated.

the report you've got is not very detail. At least you did not see key words like ulcer, bleeding, metaplasia, and cancer.

As for the treatment outcome, I think it's better we wait till you have the final report before doing anything new.

No, Expert...I'm not surprised about the lack of detail. The doctor was performing so many tests that I waited 3 hours for mine! It was ridiculous. Anyhow, can I assume that irritation is from the HP and the fact that I hadn't eaten or drank anything for almost 24 hours? Also, I was extremely nervous before the test and it took 3 tries before they could get my IV in because I was so dehydrated! What an terrible experience!

If everything is normal then there is nothing to worry about. No need for more details if there is nothing to say. I don't know where you saw irritations but even though, this shouldn't be a concern.
