Still having 'nausea attacks' 8 months after threatment

Who knows, maybe H.pylori causes diseases outside the stomach. Cardiovascular disease, skin problems, migraine, autoimmune disease and nurologic disease have been suggested (to name a few). Keep on the lookout and we await proof.

Still having 'nausea attacks' 8 months after threatment

Post by Kikou »

Hi helico-expert. Hope you're doing well. It's the first time that I write in a forum cause I'm lost of ideas and I begin to creep..

So let me introduce myself. I'm 24 a years old male and began to experience some really extreme nausea in november 2019. I couldn't even walk, drive, think... I mean it was a living hell. I thought I was going to die (I'm not being overdramatic really). So on November 28th an endoscopy was done and 2 weeks later we got the results. It was Hpylori. In the meantime I lost 8 kilos. I was 73 normally but then I dropped to 65. So I got the first treathment with the antacids and antibiotics for 10 days. The problem is that the antacids caused some allergic reaction so I had to stop as soon as I was done with the antibiotics.. I also couldn't participate to my exams because the stress made it worse event after treathment.

By December 30th I was done with my treathment and had to do a BTU test to see if it the Hpylori was still there. In the meantime I also did an abdominal scanner and ecography to see if I may be have stones in my liver? We did this cause I'm feeling a not so extreme pain when I'm breathing on the left side of my back (exactly at the location of my stomach) wich is still present. I also did a lot of urine and blood tests to see if smth else was wrong. The reason is, is that it is the first time that I experienced smth like this. Everything came back normal and the BTU test was negative!

That was really strange cause I still had some bad days that were killing of my whole day ( I couldn't even go for a walk) especially after eating chocolate, (yellow) cheese, ice and pizza and drinking tea, ice-tea, cola and coffee. Even if I don't eat them the 'attacks' keep coming but then in a less severe way and after longer waitings. It's a fact that I feel a lot better than before the treathment, but why can't I be like I was used to be? I mean my weight was 73 kilos normally seen and now I can't get pas 68..

I've read about the periods after the treathment which I still have.. But it's been 8 months since I'm done with the treathment. Am I even going to have a normal life, or are these attacks meant to be forever.. I seriously consider quitting school, because I can't even focus on it anymore. I'm tired when these 'attacks' (or periods) happen and I get very low morally.. I was full of joy and happiness and now I'm the most nihillistic guy because of this. The pain on my left back is also still there.

My GP said that the BTU test was very trustworthy, but I'm not sure anymore. Is it possible that my stomach lining takes so much time to heal or is something else wrong with me? Should I undergo and endoscopy or BTU test again? I just want to be like I was used to be..

Thanks for your answer in advance Helico-expert

Sincerely yours

How negative is your negative result? eg. if the cut off value is 50 and you got 49, that's a very suspicious negative. But if you had a reading of 1, then that's a strong negative and should be accurate.
if you are unsure, you can always get another one to double confirm your H. pylori status.

Nevertheless, your symptoms may or may not be because of H. pylori. You have gone through a heavy antibiotic treatment and if it is some other bacteria, they should be killed off too. Since you have done all the necessary tests and everything come back ok, it is probably not serious.

Do you do exercise? usually exercise can help you build some positive energy.

Hi sir,

Thank you for your answer. I have no idea about the cut of value of my BTU- test but I will ask my GP about it.

I want to say that I feel better than before the treatment.. but I'm not sure if I'm healing or these symptoms are normal for so long..

I stopped exercising because of my terrible nausea. Sometimes I try to force myself doing exercices or studying but unfortunately the body gives up too easily. Sometimes I start the day in a good mood but when I eat something I get nauseous; depends from the day. I also have nauseous feelings when I push the limits of my body (like exercising 'running' or studying for hours) but walking seems okey.

So, having 'these nauseau attacks' for 8 months is not normal? Because in another forum I read that 'time was subjective' and that these 'episodes' were normal' for someone who's healing. What do you think? Should I see another specialist again?

Thanks again for your answer sir
I appreciate it... Really

yea.. see if your symptoms improved. Nausea from H. pylori can sometimes because of low iron level. eradicating H. pylori can elevate the iron and B12 level. But that's more common among women. if you are indeed free of H. pylori and the nauseous symptom persist, then you'll need to go back to your doctor for more investigation.
