Any H Pylori experts in India

After first line treatment, various "second line" treatments can be used. The policy for H.pylori is: Make sure the infection is real (breath test for follow-up). Always give a high dose of PPI (acid blocker) when using amoxicillin. In the second treatment, give a different drug in place of clarithromycin.

Any H Pylori experts in India

Post by anilksharma »

Can you please refer me to a H Pylori expert of in India at New Delhi or any other place in India , I have been detected a month ago with H Pylori via an endoscopy procedure . No culture or sensitivity analysis was done of the bacteria .I still have a pain in my stomach after 4 - 5 weeks of treatment . My first treatment was the triple treatment for 14 days . The follow up treatment is a combination of Levosulpiride 25Mg thrice daily and Rabeorazole 25 mg that continues since after 14 days triple treatment. I am told this is a chronic ailment and takes months to eradicate. Will a second H pylori detection test at this stage help at this stage while I am on these medicines ?

so what is the report of the endoscopy? any histology done? after treatment, did you do a follow up breath test? just remember, you have to stop Rabeprazole or any PPI for at least 2 weeks before the breath test.

if histology shows normal gastritis, no ulcers, no complication, we'll just wait and see after your treatment. hopefully the treatment will get rid of H. pylori for you.
