Post treatment issues!

Post by Vibesareoff »

Hi all,

New here :)
Quick backstory, I tested positive through endoscopy with mild gastritis from h py Lori , completed triple therapy and roughly 4 weeks post treatment. My symptoms have gotten worse, I have chest pain again, sour taste in mouth in mornings, burping, sometimes feel like something stuck in my throat and when eating food feels like it comes back up and struggle to consume water now as it makes me more sickly. Also think this is the reason I developed insomnia. Now improved but stuck at 4 hours sleep. Once I wake up I can not get back to sleep. Then feel very tired when sitting in the sofa and near to nodding off.

I read a lot on Reddit etc that this is normal. I want to stop searching stuff as I don’t know when to stop, which I know so not good for me. I want to know if other people have experienced the same thing worsening of symptoms post treatment whilst being negative. Also I developed a skin reaction I’m on various parts of my body but not to sure if that’s related.

Most people say a strict diet over time will help with the issues and to get better. Is that what you have found? Do minor slip ups really cause a lot of issues? As I let my self go slightly over the weekend? I am no longer on a ppi post re test and really don’t think that helps, have been in and off for three months.. only thing I take is peptac which is like gaviscon. Which I use to limit to before bed but needing it more often now. My final question alongside diet is has anyone raised their ottoman bed and does this help? I can’t do extra pillows due to neck pain and didn’t think it was possible to raise my type of bed. I sleep on my back

Really need any positivity and similar experiences. Just want something simple to follow and hearing from people who have also suffered the same things would help me to clarify that simple steps will help.

Ps already cut out spice, fizzy drinks anything acidic, fried foods etc but like I said I have had slip ups over the weekend and festive period with chocolate etc.

Would like to have a plan going forward as I am due to return to work and need guidance so I can ease my stress

I know it’s. Avery long post, just wanted to get it all in one. Tia

Hi, I'm sorry when hearing your story. As I know, dietary changes can play a role in managing symptoms of gastritis. A bland or low-acid diet may help reduce irritation to the stomach.

I think you should see the doctor who prescribed the medicinetunnel rush for you to get the best advice.

Dear friend, as a person who has suffered from gastric Lori infection, I very much sympathize with your situation. It took me nearly a year to treat it, including 3 follow-up visits and 3 courses of medication. I was also advised to be hospitalized, but due to my busy work schedule, I chose to take medication. There was a time when I was very similar to you, feeling my body became so sensitive and uncomfortable that I couldn't sleep. But then everything will be okay. I learned to forget it, take medicine regularly, eat and sleep on time and gradually I saw the symptoms disappear. I want to give you advice to be optimistic and try to stay in a good mood. This is really important in your situation. Hope you get well soon! Sorry because my English is not very good. :D
