Hi
back in August i had endoscopy and colonoscopy, i was diagnosed with severe gastritis, erosion, ulcers with bacteria of H.Pylori.I got infected when i was eating at a local dirty restaurant in Sydney Australia in Wolli Creek.

I've had antibiotic, for 10 days with PPI. ive been using PPI for about 2 -3 months after the antibiotics. And after that i controlled it with the right diet with lowFODMAPS and not even using a single medication apart from my diet and exercises. oh i do use Probiotics but thats all.

A month ago i got tested with Blood test for H.Pylori by 2 different doctors and the result was Negative. i feel like with this diet i only have mild symptoms and i have to eat every 2 hours and not eating late. i am 37 years old and i feel like my GERD/gastritis has been improving, i dont have any bloating anymore apart from i have to eat every 2 hours.

Now my question is do i still need to get Urea Breath Test since my Blood test negative and my symptoms has been improving?? is it necessary? the doctor told me i should just go ahead with this diet until all symptoms are gone and it will fully heal. Only use PPI when i get triggered. The doctor also said that i dont really need to get tested for H.Pylori again. I still have the gastritis/gerd symptoms though maybe because all the damages that has been done by the bacteria?

i was wondering if i should do UBT test again just incase? eventhough my blood test was negative?
another thing will i really get fully recovered? Is there anyone in this forum that has fully recovered?
What sort of vitamin can i take that wouldnt give me heartburn? can i take multivitamin?
I am very positive that i can get 100% fully recovered . Fingers crossed haha.

it's very hard for blood test to give false negative result. Especially you have done it twice.

I dont think you need another UBT to triple confirm. Nevertheless, if getting one can help you from continuously thinking about it, then you can go ahead and get it done.

Glad that you are improving. Unfortunately there is no guideline to what diet or vitamin to take after treatment. Some people find probiotics helpful. maybe you can give that a try.

Hi,
I'm a little confused by the writing how long after you stopped PPIs did you get tested?

if you are referring to the blood test, there is no waiting time required for blood test. PPI will not affect blood test result.

Yes, The gastritis symptoms im having is manageable, its not bad at all. I have been eating probiotics everyday after meals, it does feel improving and alot of symptoms dissapearing one by one...
What do you think about virgin coconut oil and Digestive enzymes? are they good ? i might get virgin coconut oil first
If i wanna take UBT, will probiotics affecting it? hopefully not. and yeah i havent been taking PPI for 4 months now.

i've had diffuse severe gastritis, duodenal ulcers, gastric erosions and my small intestines ( terminal eleitis ) is a bit infected, but no Chron's symptoms. In fact i dont have any pain in the stomach anymore or bloating...So the Doctor told me i dont have Chron's
...just shortness of breath and sometimes hurts at the back..thats the only symptoms i have left...ive been on a strict diet for 4 months..

Do you i think i would be able to make a full 100% recovery again ? meaning having 3x meal a day again instead of 6x a day with small portion meals. my doctor says i will but i need a second opinion

probiotics will not affect breath test.

I think some members in the forum mentioned about coconut oil being helpful as well. I guess there is no harm trying.

The younger you are, the higher chance of you recovering to 100%.
How young will you need to be to get 100% recovery? I am afraid this is not studied yet.

Of course, younger = healthier. If you are young, but not healthy (eg. smoking and drinking), then chances of recovery decrease.
