I see that there isn’t an answer for the question: why the stomach and in my case bowel don’t fully heal and what the problem is. Maybe on a microbilogic level. I did several researches. Nothing could be found.

have you confirmed the eradication of HP?
you can only heal when HP is truly eradicated.

I am among those who haven't had full resolution of gastric symptoms after hpylori eradication. For me it took 2 years getting back to normal after a successful quadruple therapy. I thought that everything was fine now. But after one normal year there was a relapse. Having discomfort, blunt / mild pain, flatulance and acidic taste in the mouth for which I take ranitadine (unfortunately, banned now everywhere due found carcinogenic properties) and 1 tablet of De-Nol (bismuth subcitrate). Of course symptoms are diffrent / largerly milder compared to those, when infected, but still present. I read a lot of online-research, where I could see that hpylori eradication didn't always bring 100% relief of symptoms in cases of so-called non-ulcer dyspepsia. Maybe they are related to change of acidity levels in the stomach after killing bacteria, I don't know. So, mild chronic gastritis is still present and recurring regardless of hpylori therapy. Symptoms get worse when in stress or when overeating and / or not masticating food slowly and properly. At least I take comfort in the fact that my chances of getting stomach cancer are lower since getting rid of the bug. Freshly pressed carrot juice and sprinkling profusely cinnamon on some foods bring relief as well. Good luck to all of you ;)

This is similar situation as mine it been 2 years with 2 endoscopes and stool tests from different labs every 3 months all results negative but i still have issues stomach pains bad gas but i am 85% better than i was now im thinking i wont make a full recovery which is upsetting as i never suffered with stomach issue before all of this
Can it be from the food that you are eating? try the lowFODMAPS diet, it works well with me.
i dont have bloating and stomach pains anymore as long as i eat the right diet.

So it took 2 years for u to get fully recovered after you had antibiotics? at least you dont have to eat 6x a day meals hahah. thats the annoying part!
and its good to know someone made fully recovery, but you do get acid reflux every now and then from stress or over eating? but acid reflux is easy to control though hahah. i was just concern that ppl couldnt get fully recovered thats all, but im gettin better each months as long as i controlled them with lowFODMAPS. Do you still aware what you eat or you can eat whatever you want?

also what damages did you get from H.pylori? i get ulcers and erosions along severe gastritis, but its managebale and controlable now. it doesnt feel bad at all apart from i had to eat 6x meals a day.

I also need to eat frequent, small meals during flare-ups and I pay attention, what I eat particularly during the inflammation phase. I haven't tried low fodmap diet yet, but I figure I can still do without it. In regards to the cause of my symptoms after eradication I have no definitive answer. It could be the damage form hpylori time, it could be GERD since my esophagal valve doesn't close fully and hpylori eradication can aggrevate reflux, it could also be some other cause. Hpylori-negative gastritis / functional dyspepsia accounts for approx. 20% of all gastritis cases.. I need to control symptoms through dietary measures and taking medicines. I don't want to go down the path of living on PPIs constantly though.. Concerning stomach damage endoscopy done at proper time after eradication with taking biopsy samples couldn't find more than a not complete closure of esophagal sphincter, erythrose gastropathy, basically, some inflamation / reddness of stomach tissue.. No hpylori, no metaplasia.. Lately, did a colonoscopy, which was completely normal.. Ultrasound examination was also ok..

How do you feel now? are you feeling better? do you only get flare up every now and then ?mostly you able to eat 3x a day meal like normal right except if you get flare up right? ahhh your LES wasnt intact ?

Same, i was diagnosed last year August, Bacteria eradicated since then, only have gastritis now, i never eat PPI anymore! the last time i had was 4 months ago. as long as you eat right, you wont get bloating and tummy pain.. ...my doctor told me i could control it with my diet which i did. only use PPI if i get triggered by wrong food. but my diet is really strict....and ive only been on this diet for about 4 months now? and i can feel the difference, no more bloating, no more stomach pain..i still have shortness of breath and sometime hurts at the back.

My doctor told me that i should keep eating lowFODMAP diet and do light exercises as it helps alot for the gas and constipation.
yeah i did ultrasound and other things as well, got a bit fatty liver and kidney level was a bit high due to 8 months ppi, but now im ALOT better
without PPI. if u wanna know what my diets are let me know, maybe i could help u out get rid PPi like i did. Do you take PPI regularly or only during Flare up?

My doctor told me i will be fully recover. but probably will take sometime. hopefully less than 2 years hahah,..my LES is normal, its intact..how was your diet during those 2 years? were u still drinking coffee or smoking ?
had colonoscopy before as well, my small intestines was infected ( with ulcers ) abit, but i didnt get Chron's disease .fortunately!

Thanks for sharing your suffering! Good to know that I am not alone with some unresolved issues.. I wish you a full recovery.. For some it might take longer, so, don't lose the hope. Life is good, even with some stomach problems :) they have made my daily routine much more mindful. As for symptoms they subsided 1,5 years after eradication and one full year was completely symptomless. Now, something is coming back. As I said, constant low-grade pain, fullness, bloating, discomfort, tenderness in the stomach area mainly during daytime. Pain score 1 or 2 out of 10. Not pleasant, but not catastrophic either. At least I know that I still need to take care of my stomach and pay attention what I eat & drink..

Do you mind if i ask your age? i heard recovery is based on your age, how healthy you are ( no smoking or drinking ) im 37 years old male and gotten the bacteria in Sydney Australia during my 3 months holiday. dirty restaurant. this was last January, Got endoscopy/colonscopy on August along with eradication H.Pylori with Antibiotics. 2 months eating bad stuff that i didnt know i shouldnt eat. Started having the right diet with LowFOdMAP on October... been 3/4 months now without PPI and controlled with diet.

In my Experience, if you get bloated, dull pain in stomache, normally you need to review again what you have been eating, I cut all sugar, gluten, i dont smoke or drink coffee, no spicy and sour food along with fatty food like oily food. No Fried food. i also do a light exercises like light jogging or swiming for an hour everyday. It helps with constipation and letting out the gas.

I actually had the symptoms that you had a month ago, apparently i couldnt eat Fragrant rice and i tried different vegetables and apparently i didnt cook that properly eventhough i cooked it for 15 mins. So i went back to my old diet that works for me...didnt have bloating anymore afterwards.

The day i dont get bloated anymore is the day i know that the food ive been eating is right. That is my indication. i will link you a link and maybe u should try and follow this list.It works for me in some food in this list...i will also tell you what i eat everyday that works for me, so maybe it would work for u too.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/arti ... eflux.html

Check that link, what works for me....pretty much normal White Rice ( jasmine ), Chicken breast fillet, Fish, Vegetable that i eat is Bok choy/Pak choy, Carrot, Apple ( with the skin peeled off ), Pear....Grilled/steam/boiled/Baked,...as long as its not fried. and ...no coffee/tea/ milk/...i pretty much just drink water..you can make Apple or Carrot juice without sugar....also make sure when you cook vegetables, it has to be really really cook..you can use celtic salt or himalayan rock salt..just a pinch not too much

so yeah give that diet a shot if you want to see how it works out for you....i also eat probiotics everyday! i am going to try Virgin coconut oil soon and ive heard theres sooo much benefits for it!

yeahhh the recovery will take awhile , some ppl healed within 6 month! some 2 years! but from what i know even when youre fully healed, you need to be cautious with what you eat in the future, it wont be as normal as it used to be. Because i used to get Ulcer 10 years ago. i couldnt eat maybe like a handfull stuff, or else id get acid reflux for 3 days LOL. ...but i never had H.pylori, this is new, but reflux is reflux... same symptoms ya know.
i know a lot of ppl eating that diet that im having now and healed from H.pylori, hiatal hernia and gerd....
but hiatal hernia takes about 2 years minimum... their LES didnt close properly... but more than 2000 ppl are fully recovered..its from my local FB group.

Thanks, mate, for your kind advice. You seem to have taken quite a comprehensive approach in regards to diet. I support that as long as this brings you closer to recovery. For me.. how should I put it.. the suffering is not so grave to resort to low fodmap or cut out drastically my other staple foods. When I notice a connection between food I've eaten and worsening / improvement of symptoms I definitevely go for it.. On the other hand, life without many essential sources of carbohydrates, dairy and other stuff would become pretty much miserable.. Of course this is just my take on that. I am 46 years old male from Northern Europe.. I am a phisically active person, pay attention to my diet.. However I am susceptible to stress at my workplace and I don't stay away from alcohol and an occasional cigar..
