Rifabutin and Red urine?

I’m going on a new H pylori treatment which includes rifabutin. One of the side effects includes red pee (along with red sweat and saliva).

What are the exact scientific reasons for this effect? Could someone explain how rifabutin discolors your pee? You can throw complex chemical formulas and scientific terms or it can be dumbed down.

Thanks.

Please: Keep answers strictly about urine discoloration and rifabutin ONLY. No advice for other treatments.

The red color is probably due to rifabutin being excreted from urine. Rifabutin’s original color is red color powder, if I remember correctly.

Not too sure about the sweaty part. Everyone experienced slightly different side effect. You may want to watch out your platelet count while having rifabutin.
