Hi,
Just an update on my treatment, I recently did a follow-up endoscopy to evaluate severe gastritis and intestinal metaplasia seen on my last endoscopy which I did 2 years ago. I had a course of antibiotic to eradicate h pylori infection 2 years ago after endoscopy which apparently was successful. In my recent endoscopy, I am free of h pylori after 2 years, no sign of inflammation as well but unfortunately there is still intestinal metaplasia in the stomach antrum. Also, they found “mild prominence of parietal cells with focal cystic dilatation of glands” which make me worry. After googling, some believe that there is correlation between the use of PPIs and cystic dilatation of glands. However I stopped taking any PPIs since last year and I am not sure if taking PPIs for a short period of time ( less than a year) can cause cystic dilatation of parietal cell or not. I do wonder if anyone knows what mild prominence of parietal cells with focal cystic dilatation of glands mean? Is it the same as stomach polyps?

Thanks in advance

Man, intestinal metaplasia is pretty common during routine endoscopy check up, 30% of the general population have some grade of IM. Don't worry too much about it if you're still young and you'r IM is mild or moderate.
