Why were you only given 7 days of cipro whereas the rest were given 14 days?
have you had metronidazole before?
perhaps you should add bismuth to your treatment as well.

Thanks for your reply helico expert.
It's been prescribed by my GP. I did ask him if I have to take the cipro for 14 days like other medicines too but he said its only for 7 days. I am in Sydney so not sure if I can get bismuth over the counter or its a prescription only med.
No I did not take metronide earlier. First line treat was nexium 7.
Do you suggest I ask my doctor again to continue cipro for 14 days?

Your doctor probably knows what he is doing. he understands the local strains better than anyone.
you cannot buy bismuth from chemist. Your doctor will need to make a special request to TGA to get approval.

Does negative or below positive range IgG of H.Pylori indicates that there's no H.Pylori in the body? I would like to check the IgG level two months after eraeication.

Update on my case!!
I am starting to feel better now 3 weeks post antibiotics course!! I am extremely happy with the progress because the first two weeks I hadn’t improve a bit. I haven’t had a single flare up and my symptoms are much milder across the board. I’m definitely on the healing path but I intend to maintain my strict diet for another 10 days while slowly introducing new stuff.
My breath test for HP is in 10 days and I’m already off the PPI since 6 days.

Yesterday I had a mini flare up but as you’ve predicted Helico_expert it was milder than the typical flare ups I had in the past and I recovered much quicker!!

Hi Helico Expert,
After talking to my GP again he advised to continue with cipro for another 7 days now. I feel sick with burning stomach pains at times specially when stomach is empty in the mornings. With full stomach I feel better. I still get burping after meals. I have also started taking probiotic supplement too. I am on 10th day of treatment now 4 more days to go.
Appreciate your advice.
Thanks,
Imran

most importantly, get a follow up breath test one month later. If you still have HP, we can discuss on your next treatment.
