Post Treatment Question

The cure of Hp usually requires antibiotics. Other things have been tried and have a weaker effect.

Post Treatment Question

Post by Tweenie »

I just finished my triple therapy almost one week ago. It included Amoxicillin, Levofloxacin and Pantoprazole for 14 days. I experienced quite a bit of nausea during the treatment but I also experienced that prior to treatment, off and on.

So, after treatment, I’m still feeling nauseous, pretty much every day, off and on. Is this normal, post treatment? If so, how long can this persist?

If your nausea symptom was caused by antibiotics, it should gradually go away within a week.

Since your nausea symptom happened before treatment, perhaps it's due to something else than the antibiotics. Have you done a blood test to see if your iron level is good?

I’m usually very low in iron. My last blood work in July 2020 showed it was low but not yet anemic.

H. pylori is shown associated with low iron deficiency. There are studies that show that the return of iron level after HP eradication.

Hi
I have also recently finished a 7 day triple treatment of amoxi, clarithromycin & lansparozale. I have been suffering for 11 months and after numerous tests and many medications and only on my own research, tested positive for h pylori through a breath test. It’s now day 4 after treatment and I still have anxiety and a feeling that my arms and the back of my neck is inflammed.
I am hoping all this will pass with time but is there anyone who can let me know after how long did, after treatment they felt better.

Also am worried whether the 7 days of treatment was enough considering I have had these symptoms which included, burning sensation in stomach, constipation, loss of appetite, insomnia, anxiety, brain fog, the list goes on
