After an endoscopy I was recently diagnosed with H. Pylori. I have finished first round of therapy with Clarithromyc 500 MG, 1 tab BID, Omeprazole 20 MG, 1 tab BID and Amoxicillin 500 MG, 1 cap BID. I felt better for about a week but now back to symptoms. After arguing with my GI doctor who doesn't think we need to do any follow up testing I will have the breath test next week with a different doctor. In your opinion, what is the best second dose therapy?

Hi , Sorry to hear you still have Hp after first treatment. I have just finished my 3rd treatment( Quadrouple therapy. U can look on my post what I was on.

Since doing this I have read alot about Zinc Carnosine. I wish i have had taken this simple supplement with the quadrouple therapy. I read about it in a book about ulcers. Since finishing my 3rd lot a few days ago, I am now taking it for 8 weeks..then i will have my breath test! I would look into it and also I would go straight for the quadrouple therapy, rather than another dual or tripple. Of course I'm no doctor but hit it hard I say!

Good luck. Lee

Hi there,
I saw the kind reply above but have to say to you that it is unproven and may be expensive. So I have changed the font colour to pink. Like taking vitamin C for colds, this is not a proven reatment. As I have said in so many posts, searh for the on-line article by Bjorn Stenstrom for deep insights into failed treatments. :)

Well, it worked!!! I took the zinc carnosine AND I Added bismuth to the new mix of medication! The bismouth was over $100.00 and the inc was $43.00 AUS
I suggested the bismuth after months and months of searching for answers, even though my doctor wished me luck on it. Im not 100% sure it was the zinc carnosine or the Bismuth but I know they contributed to the successful eradication of Pylori. Bismuth made me a little nauseated but I feel was so worth it. I am not saying this is for everyone but it worked for me and It was my 3rd attempt at it.

2 months have passed and I am having some discomfort still but I am sure its diet related or stress related. I still continue to take the zinc carnosine and I beleive its helping me.
This forum has been a huge help to me and i appreciate having somewhere to come to actually speak to a Dr that specialises in it.
Wishing everyone well

Lesa xx
