Hello

i had HC symptoms (sour in my throat while i rotten, pain in abdominal..)
my doctor gave me this therapy

Amoksicilin 1000mg 2x day (2 weeks)
Metronidazol 400 mg 2 x day (2 weeks)
Klaritomicin 500 mg 2 x day ( 1week)
Nolpaza (pantoprazol 40 mg 2x day ( 2 weeks)

I m already on 8. day of using threapy (need 14 days)

a lot of symptoms dissapeard or they are really weak, but this hard swallowing with a bit of pain ( like throat sore) which varies through the day (sometimes easier swallowing without pain and sometimes harder with pain) I got a bit scared and im in depression so i wanted to ask you @Helico_expert is it normal and when i should expect to that sypmtom dissapear?

And one interesting thing is that like when its day i dont feel so much pain/swallowing problems but when its night it starts a bit to get worse)

i saw a lot members say they have same symptom with throat soar, so i got relaxed a bit..
Thanks a lot in advance <3

I m generally a bit scared person so any advice from you will be so helpful, btw i m 23 years old

You are still very young. Your recovery is going to be good.
Your sore throat is probably due to reflux acid burn. Like any wound, it'll take time to heal.
I am glad to hear that most of your other symptoms has gone away or reduced. Keep up the good work. Finish the treatment, if needed, get more Nolpaza.

after stopping all medication, wait 4 weeks, go back to your doctor for a follow up check to find out if you still have the bacteria.

hmmm.. it's not rare to have fungus infection while having antibiotics.
Usually the number of fungus cells are restricted due to the good bacteria.
but when are taking antibiotics, all the good bacteria got wiped out. So the fungus can grow out of control.

you can check with your doctor to see if it is fungus infection. You may need anti-fungal.

Thanks for responding, and i have just one more question, i today tried to eat a bit food with salt and i felt a reflux acid in my throat, how much time i need to recover from it?

I literally got therapy after 10-15 days from first symptoms, should recovery be fast or?

Unfortunately the recovery is depending on the damage done. Usually young people has faster recovery.

So, most important is to have H. pylori out of your system. Without removing H. pylori, there is no chance for recovery.

as a result, after your treatment, please wait for a month without any medication (H2 blockers are fine), then repeat the breath test to confirm H. pylori eradication.

I was today to my doctor but not specialist, and he told me that he is confused why my specialist give this therapy

Amoksicilin 1000mg 2x day (2 weeks)
Metronidazol 400 mg 2 x day (2 weeks)
Klaritomicin 500 mg 2 x day ( 1week)
Nolpaza (pantoprazol 40 mg 2x day ( 2 weeks)

Do you see anything confusing here, because i m now frustrasted did i make a mistake?
She told me that i should have used klaritomicin 2 weeks too, but on my paper from specialist, there was 2x weeks on amoksicilon, metronidazol and nolpaza and next to klaritomicin wasnt mentioned 2 weeks

So please if you can help me with answer, did i make a big mistake about it (will 5 days missed klaritomicin make big affect?) and should i continue to take kalritomicin because 2 more days left on my threapy?

I already have a lot of symptoms gone expect the acid from reflux, burping and swallowing problem (like something is in my throat - like phlegm but i cant spit it ) and short breath and a feel a bit hot in my throat(prob from acid) after i eat something is this normal even if i m taking pantoprazol 40mg twice daily? Good thing is that pain from throat is gone

And last question is
Should i continue to take pantoprazol after therapy for 1-2 weeks? And how much time i need to wait after that period to take stool test (we dont have breath test)

Sorry for asking so much questions, i just got nervous when doctor told me about this therapy mistake that i made, you helping me so much for my mind relaxation <3

Hi,

I agree that the treatment is a bit non-standard. But I believe your specialist knows what he is doing. He probably has lot of success using that protocol.

Anyway, it's good to hear that you are feeling better. But most importantly is that you are free of H. pylori. Many times patients feel better after treatment is because 99% of the bugs are killed by the antibiotics and the acid is reduced by the PPI.
But the 1% resistant H. pylori will just grow back over time. So it is important that your H. pylori is 100% killed. and you are feeling better not because of the PPI.

So, make sure you do a follow up stool test one month after you stop all treatment.
If you feel that you need to continue pantoprazole to control your acid, please continue so. You can do your follow up test after you stop your pantoprazole completely.
