Gday im 28 living in Australia/ bali.

Got diagnosed with h pylori 12 months ago and had the normal symptoms such as burning cramps diarrhea and so on. But before diagnosis i had a blood test showing high iron and an ultrasound that was all good.

Done my triple therapy symptoms slowly left and iron leveled back to normal but within a matter of weeks the same typical symptoms slowly came back and bloods showed low iron. Done another breath test positive.

2nd round done another triple therapy symptoms improved but this time never left but iron went back to normal again. Slowly symptoms got worse did a breath test positive again.

Now i just finished my third round of triple therapy but during the therapy i got chronic diarrhea and wat i mean by this is every meal i eat comes right back out. Ok maybe its the tablets but I am now 2 weeks off my acid tablets and i still have chronic diarrhea. Thats like easy 6 weeks maybe a little longer. The cramps ovcoarce they havnt left either but im a little concerned about my bowel movements.

Still need 2 more weeks for a breath test but probably a waste of time. Curious to what my next step is and do some people go through this therapy with constant no success. Is there another solution and the diarrhea surely its not just me. Could it be signs of something else. Or is this a normal h pylori thing

Do you have a record of the antibiotics you took in the 3 separate courses treatment?

by right, you are meant to use different antibiotics in each treatment except for Amoxicillin.

You are doing the right thing by following the protocol. your loose stools is probably due to the many antibiotics you took. This is very common side effect. The side effect will gradually reduce after stopping the antibiotics.

Two weeks later, if you still get a positive result, then you'll need to see a GP or a specialist who can prescribe you quadruple therapy.

Ok thanks for the reply .....they have given me clarithromycin 500mg, esomeprazole 20mg, and amoxycillin 500 for 7 days then acid tablets for 30 days.

This has been repeated 3 times so yes same tablets everytime.

Maybe im ammun to them wats the correct coarse
..... ill start booking a specialist then and do my breath test.

hmm.. it's not wise to take the same treatment 3 times. Perhaps you should seek second opinion for a second set of treatment. A specialist is a good idea.
