Chronic Gastritis Fear

The various unpleasant manifestations of Helicobacter can be described here. Remember however that the great majority of persons with Hp have no symptoms that they are aware of and consider themselves normal.

H. pylori causes a lot of inflammation in the stomach. the inflammation then causes cell death. When the repair mechanism cannot coup with the repair, then stem cells from other regions starts gathering to help the repair. When the partially differentiated stem cells arrived in the stomach, it differentiated into other cell type. This is when metaplasia happens.

Unfortunately, the only way to detect metaplasia is through histology.

If I have chronic gastritis and do not eradicate H. Pylori but take steps to reduce inflammation in the stomach, will that prevent progression to metaplasia?

Is there any evidence that ingesting CBD capsules helps reduce H. Pylori inflammation?

My question is why do you want to keep a pathogen in you that has the potential of giving you stomach cancer?

At current medical advancement, it is still impossible to regulate your inflammation, unless you are on immuno suppressant drugs of course.

Hi,
I had posted about this on the board already so don’t want to hurt people’s heads by repeating too much.. but to answer the question, No I don’t wish to live with his bacteria but I failed my fifth treatment recently. So, my doctor wants me to take a break from treatments for a while, as I had exhausted all possible antibiotics and I started to get a lot of other infections (came down with flu, then UTI, then stomach flu) in succession right after I finished the last rifabutin/amox/PPI therapy (and unfortunately had to go on even more abx for the UTI). I’m simply exhausted.

So, what you’re saying is that ingesting CBD pills will not reduce inflammation/chronic gastritis in the stomach caused by H. Pylori?

This is really last resort, until my doctor figures out what else to do with me. He said he was going to consult with more specialists to figure out a plan. All I know is the only thing on the table right now is that I will have another endoscopy in a year to monitor my condition. Other than that, I am trying to not think and stress out about this too much (or at least less than before).

I am afraid there is no articles out there that shows that CBD oil helps reduce gastritis.

Have you consider asking your doctor to import furazolidone? try www.trimed.com.au, they can supply your doctor the drug.

Hi Ankiwo,

You need to figure out if you are getting reinfected maybe your partner has hpylori so look at your environment and people around you. Just a tip.
Could be you are curing the infection but getting reinfected.

We both did treatment. After treatment my husband got tested twice, and both times he was negative. I still have it. My two kids were tested and were negative. Unfortunately it’s just something about me. :-(

We are in the United States so we cannot get the medication as it is not FDA approved here anymore :(

Hi Helico_expert,

Just posting an update to my post "chonic gastritis fear".

I have stopped taking PPI for about a month now as i had a check up this past friday with my physician. I have explained my concerns and fears to him regarding atrophic gastritis. As i have read that chronic gastritis (i have antral gastritis) can lead to atrophic gastritis in stepwise. So i told him that i need to make sure that the hpylori is gone and he advised that i should take a stool test.

However i have told him i need an endoscopy and stool test to ensure hpylori is gone. Also to monitor if the inflammation is healing as compared to my last scope which was 6 months ago.

So all in all i am going to the hospital today to get bloods, stool and endoscopy done to see if hpylori is eradicated. Which i think should help give me peace of mind.

My symptoms have improved as compared to 6 months ago..
I only suffer with :

Bloating
Mild Indigestion
Burping
Mild pressure in center of stomach.

As per previous endoscopy (6 months ago) i had antral gastritis which my doc said is very common due to hpylori. He also checked for any anemia issues or vitamin b12 issues and said its all clear and was just diagnosed with chronic antral gastritis due to hpylori.

Sorry for the in depth explanation. Just need this hpylori gone and hope the chonic gastritis didn't lead to atrophic gastritis during the 6 months.
