Has anyone had a problem with sleeping? This is my main symptom and I completed antibiotics and still haven't been able to sleep.

I dont think insomnia is related to H. pylori.

Have you had a breath test after your treatment to check if H.pylori was eradicated? I have never read anything about H.pylori and insomnia.

No, I haven't had the breath test. The doc wants me to stay on PPI's for an extended time. :-(

I guess it might be stress since this went untreated for so long.

This is totally unrelated to H.pylori and I believe it is only stress or kind of depression.. try to relax and I'm sure it will go away..
Good luck

i know that when you take antibiotics and after the course too -
you should eat yogurt every day, you know, to protect yourself from the dysbacteriosis.
i don't know how antibiotics affect your sleep, but did you try warm milk maybe?
a little bit sedative may help

There could be a lot of reasons behind insomnia. From different types of medications to stress, there are several reasons that can cause sleeplessness. It is however something that can be set right, provided you are determined enough to put in some efforts. A proper dieting plays an integral role in keeping you safe from Insomnia. All foods that promote a healthy living are known to be effective in the prevention or treatment of insomnia. These includes adding more fruits, whole grains and vegetables in your diet.

I believe H. pylori indirectly causes insomnia and depression. Because the treatment is terrible and long. Many patients (and some doctors) kept taking the same antibiotics when the treatment failed. After months and months of failure and side effects, they eventually gave up and ended up in depression. In the resistance cases, because H. pylori get resistance to antibiotics easily and so more toxic antibiotics will be prescribed, which leads to more severe side effects.

But all the above only happened to small group of people. The triple therapy has a cure rate of 80%. If you are not expose to antibiotics frequently (for other diseases), the cure rate can be even higher.

Lastly, according to my experience and through people I know, emotion will affect the digestive system. Some people experience excessive burping, bloating or stomach cramp when they are nervous or stress.
