Herx die-off reaction -- HELP!

The various unpleasant manifestations of Helicobacter can be described here. Remember however that the great majority of persons with Hp have no symptoms that they are aware of and consider themselves normal.

Herx die-off reaction -- HELP!

Post by susan22.reed »

:!: I took a colostrum supplement to help grow my hair after a bad breakup, and I accidentally caused a full-on herx reaction of what I think is H.Pylori die-off. Turns out colostrum has lactoferrin, which is a biofilm disruptor (aka kills H. Pylori).

My intestines felt like they were on fire a couple of nights ago, and I experienced extreme bloating, heartburn, dizziness, inflammation backaches, and tiredness. It was really very scary. I stopped taking colostrum asap, and sowly, my tummy problems are subsiding, however I still feel extremely dizzy and brain foggy. I went to a hospital, and all of my blood labs are normal--liver is working, no kidney problems, thyroid is working, and weirdest of all: no inflammation!? I am scared since I very strongly believe I just nuked some bad gut bacteria and caused a crazy big inflammatory response in my body, so shouldn't I be seeing some inflammation? Maybe my body is done reacting, and I'm just left with this weird brain dizziness and fog. The doctor suggested stress....umm no. I fully believe this is a reaction to the colostrum supplement. It's been less than a week, but has anyone experienced something like this persistent dizziness? Sounds are also very loud.

I am scared it doesn't go away. I just started taking activated charcoal this morning but really wish I took it a few days ago to bind endotoxins. I think this video describes my experience (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIOFUU67ekE). I just want to hear what others have to say. Help if you can please!

While it's good that your blood labs came back normal, persistent symptoms like dizziness and brain fog can be concerning. It's important to continue following up with your healthcare provider and consider seeking a second opinion if necessary. In the meantime, taking activated charcoal may help, but be sure to monitor your symptoms closely and consult with a medical professional for personalized advice. What strategies or remedies can be used to reduce persistent dizziness and brain fog following a Herxheimer reaction, and how can activated charcoal be used effectively in this setting to bind endotoxin?

While you feel stress might not be the cause, stress can exacerbate physical symptoms. Practicing relaxation techniques or mindfulness might help managboxing randome the overall stress and support your recovery.

It sounds like your body is still recovering from the die-off reaction. Dizziness and brain fog can take time to subside as your system clears out toxins. Staying hydrated, supporting your gut with probiotics, and giving yourself time to heal might help. Hope you feel better soon!

Sounds like your body had a strong die-off reaction, especially if H. pylori was involved. The dizziness and brain fog could be lingering effects, even if your bloodwork looks normal. Stopping colostrum and taking activated charcoal was a good move. Stay hydrated, eat gut-friendly foods, and give it time. If symptoms persist, a gut specialist might help. Hang in there!
