Positive test results, triple therapy for 7 days...worried it won't work and going 2 months to South America

The most popular treatments consist of two antibiotics (one of which is usually clarithromycin) plus a strong acid blocker such as omeprazole (PriLosec, Nexium, Somac, Zoton, etc.). Treatment is for 7-10 days. Cure rate is about 85%

you dont have to continue bismuth after the treatment.

PPI is subjective. If you are feeling reflux, then you can take PPI. otherwise, you can gradually stop it too.

you are probably still experiencing the side effect of antibiotics. let's wait for a week and see how it goes.
Ok, I forgot to mention that I drank quite a bit on Sunday because of the world cup and ate pizza. Yeah, I'm that stupid. Anyways, I was wondering if my last day of taking the PPI on tuesday, does it mean my body is still producing less acid than it should do, so that would explain why I have acid reflux? or a lot of burpings after eating or drinking?

Can I go to the drug store and grab some Zantac ? My doctor never told me if I need to continue PPI after the 7 days. I don't even know if I have an ulcer, she didn't ask for me to get tested for this.

Yup.. you can get some Zantac if you feel like burping.
Many doctors dont check ulcers because with or without ulcer, the treatment is the same. Just take PPI.

because you just finish your treatment. So let's wait a week or two and see if your symptoms settle down.

you can continue Zantac as long as you like. One month later, remember to get a follow up breath test. you can take Zantac until the night before breath test.

The burping may or may not be because of H. pylori. Some people just happen to swallow a lot of gas naturally. Then they burp, especially when they are anxious.

Yes I totally understand the same and I have done a lot of research on this too.
For me H Pylori only caused Acid Reflux and alot. I did diet modifications. Had to cut down dairy and fried food and spices & it helped me.
I am just hoping H pylori is gone from my system and my stomach heals in time.
I finished my therapy 2 weeks back, waiting for another 2 weeks to get breath test done.
