I would also like to point out, when you are taking PPI, your stomach becomes neutral and any bacteria can grow. your burping could be due to any of those bacteria too. Hopefully when you finish your PPI treatment, your acid will return and your stomach will once again sterile, then your stomach can...

if children has no symptom, it's not recommend to treat it. the antibiotics may do more harm than good to the children. Also, a group of scientists in the US is suggesting that H. pylori is good for children. It stimulates the children's immune system and so children are less likely to be allergic. ...

Re: recent diagnosis of helico p continued diarrhoea

the three stool test is probably to triple confirm the eradication of H. pylori. Zantac, omeprazole and other acid blocker may affect the test result. cannot use blood test to check for H. pylori after treatment as the false positive is too high. If it is negative, it means that you are never infect...

based on what I observed, it's not always the bacteria's fault on the "wind". we shallowed a lot of "wind" unintentionally too. As the stomach is "moving", it creates air bubbles too. I think your stomach is the the recovering mode. Hopefully your burping will subside in the next few weeks. Also, re...

H. pylori will not stop PPI from healing your ulcer. before H. pylori was discovered. everyone with ulcers were prescribed PPI. ulcers will heal within a month and then they stop PPI and then a few months later, the ulcers come back and they have to go back to PPI. It was thought to be stress and sm...

H. pylori infection is not inherited. However, evidence showed that people do get it when they are young. In Japan, children as young as 2 yr old is already found infected. In addition, if mother is positive for H. pylori, it is more likely that the children or family to be positive for infection. T...

Re: newly diagnosed, need some answers please

We had a publication in 2012. We use PPI + Amox + Rifabutin and Ciprofloxacin.

http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1 ... 9/suppinfo

That is the rescue therapy we recommended for people who cannot be treated with the standard triple therapy.
The Amox we prescribed there is 3000 mg a day.

thank you for sharing your interesting story. The burping symptom does sound like a H. pylori infection. The long and persistent symptoms too sounds like H. pylori. However, stool test, or any test can be negative when you are taking Lanzoprazole or any acid reducing drug. having ulcer doesnt mean i...
