Re: Pause in treatment

It's not a common side effect that you are experiencing. But if you feel that it's affecting your breathing, you should talk to your doctor immediately. 7 days is ok. stopped antibiotic for 1 and a half day is fine also. if you really cannot finish the antibiotics because of the breathing issue, it'...

Re: Reflux/Heartburn/Vomiting Got Worse After Starting HP Treatment

I assume that you are indeed free of H. pylori. The symptoms that you are experiencing, is it worse than before? If it is, then you'll need to speak to your doctor about it. If it's not as worse as before, then it's just one of those episodes. It will subside after a few days. are you still on omepr...

Re: Chances of getting reinfected?

it's not easy to catch H. pylori in adulthood. H. pylori does not survive well outside human body. So it's not easy to catch it from contaminated water or food. Kissing is a possible route, but the carrier will need to poor oral hygiene. did you manage to get a follow up breath test to prove that yo...

Re: 4 therapies failed, need advise

Just a reminder, if you are on PPI, histology may give false negative.
must ask pathologist to look for active gastritis cells.

perhaps you can switch to H2 blockers for two weeks before endoscopy.

Re: Reflux/Heartburn/Vomiting Got Worse After Starting HP Treatment

PPI will give a more complete inhibition of acid secretion and long lasting. But the effect will kick in slower. Famotidine is fast acting and doesnt stay effective in your body for long. Omeprazole is an old PPI and probably half of the people are less sensitive to it. Meaning you need a higher dos...

Re: Is it possible to get three false negative stool test

no test is 100%. But 3 consecutive negatives from stool test is most probably true. Some patients need longer time to recover. So since you are free of H. pylori now, you can focus on the recovery. Try eat healthy, do more exercise, and think positive. you may want to try some natural remedy and see...

Re: Reflux/Heartburn/Vomiting Got Worse After Starting HP Treatment

I assumed you have checked that you are actually free of H. pylori now. Your symptoms may not be because of H. pylori as H. pylori doesnt give diarrhea. and only in acute phase, give you vomit. Some H. pylori patients get nausea because of low iron level and that could be due to H. pylori. Usually i...

Re: Reflux/Heartburn/Vomiting Got Worse After Starting HP Treatment

unfortunately there is no guideline to what is "normal" under endoscopy examination. Normally during endoscopy, the gastroenterologist is simply looking for obvious abnormalities, eg. polyps, inflammation, ulcers, bleeding, etc. Then they will take a small biopsy for examination. The small biopsy on...

Re: Multiple antibiotic treatment failure ,trying the natural options

hmm... these medication are quite "tame", in terms of side effect. Are you allergic to any of them?

although antibiotics dont normally induce anxiety attack, you might want to talk to your doctor about it.
