Re: H.Pylori tests and anyone fully recovered yet?

it's very hard for blood test to give false negative result. Especially you have done it twice. I dont think you need another UBT to triple confirm. Nevertheless, if getting one can help you from continuously thinking about it, then you can go ahead and get it done. Glad that you are improving. Unfo...

hmm... you have asked a question that I do not have an answer.
However, from experience and literature, many iron deficient patients have their iron level restored after HP eradication.

Re: Vitamin D deficiency = Treatment failures?

looks like you have tried everything.

perhaps you want to wait for the launch of the new PPI, vonoprazan?

it's a very powerful PPI. There are some articles that showed great cure rate from Vonoprazan and Amoxicillin (dual drug therapy).

Re: Stomach and chest issues

H. pylori does not colonise in the esophagus. However, due to acid reflux, the acid can damage the esophagus that leads to esophagitis. 2 weeks without PPI is minimum to get useful breath test data. The longer you wait without PPI the better accuracy for the UBT. PPI can lower the acid, which leads ...

Re: Vitamin D deficiency = Treatment failures?

I am actually waiting for Prof. Marshall to respond to your question. anyway, while waiting, there are quite a few scientific articles out there discussing the possibility of deficiency of Vit D and its association with poorer cure rate. However, this has not been a factor discussed in any guideline...

Re: Multiple antibiotic treatment failure ,trying the natural options

You probably need 14 days treatment. The key to high success cure rate is the effectiveness in inhibiting acid. H2 blocker is a weak acid blocker. So I think you need the third antibiotic to boost your cure rate. famotidine 20mg twice a day. You can have some natural product while having the treatme...

Re: Multiple antibiotic treatment failure ,trying the natural options

You can use high dose H2 blockers to replace PPI. But there are many types of PPI, maybe you can try different PPI? such as rabeprazole, pantoprazole, etc In regards to natural regimen, the success rate is very low. Some members in this forum claim that their formula work for them and many failed to...

Re: Stomach and chest issues

You will need to wait 2 weeks without PPI or antibiotics before breath/stool test. You can switch to ranitidine or other H2 blocker while waiting for breath/stool test. Ranitidine will not affect the breath test. Here is a guideline how to use breath test. https://helico.com/PYtest_guide_2013.pdf Si...
