Re: After Four Treatments H.pylori still detected in Stool

I shall try answering your questions and if I did not answer your question, please do ask again. 1. Is this contagious – will my new love of my life get this. My doctor told me it was not. H. pylori is difficult to transmit via mouth and sharing food. However, long term being so close (kissing, shar...

Very interesting paper. I think it's worth trying! Let us know how it goes. the risk is, if failed, then there is a chance that your h. pylori becomes resistant to the antibiotic and you'll have to take another set of treatment. Then again, we have seen patients stopped treatment half way through be...

Re: H. Pylori and IBS

H. pylori is more associated with stomach diseases. They are very slow growing and probably not able to compete with the normal flora in the intestine and colon. However, H. pylori can be detected from stool. Then again H. pylori doesnt produce toxin. As a result, I believe it'll be very difficult f...

Although I think it will be rare to find H. pylori in water, it has been proven that H. pylori can survive in water for up to 4 days.

You can do DNA test or even culture from the water and see if there is any H. pylori growing.

Re: Resistant H Pylori - 4th Treatment

5th therapy with the same antibiotic... i doubt that will work too. the antibiotic resistance must have already built up. it has nothing to do with which city you are from now. since they have got your biopsy, why not just ask for antibiotic sensitivity test? that will proof them you're the first on...

Re: Resistant Bacteria! or False Positive Breath Tests

Hi, more than half of the world population is infected by H. pylori. only a very very small percentage of people will get stomach cancer. Among the infected, most of them remain asymptomatic and remain healthy. So, dont have to be too worry about it. It is possible to remove the bacteria permanently...

Re: New to this site/with hp

Dont give up so quickly. Perhaps your H. pylori is resistant to your previous treatment. Can I suggest you to do an gastroscopy, get a culture of your H. pylori and test for antibiotic sensitivity?

Your specialist will then be able to prescribe the right antibiotic to kill it.
