Re: post Pylera regimen

How long must I wait before taking second breath test? you'll have to wait 2-3 weeks before doing breath test. how long does Pylera (or the antibiotic) stay in the stomach AFTER you stop taking it? everyone has different metabolic rate. So i think the drugs should only stay in your body for 1-4 day...

Re: post Pylera regimen

it takes about 1-2 days for Prilosec to completely turn your stomach neutral. when the stomach is neutral, H. pylori will turn off the enzyme that neutralize the acid. or else it'll be too acidic and they'll die (very smart).

so when did you do breath test ?

Re: What yogurt or probiotics does everyone recommend?

I know a few people (h. pylori negative), whenever they are stressed, they will have all the h. pylori symptoms. eg. bloating and pain. in addition, i know a story about a human trial study. in that study, volunteers were give genet...

Re: post Pylera regimen

there is not a lot of study on diet after h. pylori treatment. some studies do suggest probiotics after antibiotics. I believe that will help too as probiotics may prevent the bad bacteria growing in the intestine. in regards to PPI after h. pylori treatment, that is normally recommended for patient...

Re: High Bilirubin rate? Infection from family pet?

in regards to your PPI question, I think there is no replacement for PPI. the antibiotics only work in neutral pH and no other drug works better than PPI. By the way, I dont think bismuth affects the acids. However, it has some antibacterial effect and has been used together with triple therapy to b...

Re: What yogurt or probiotics does everyone recommend?

It's harsh, but please keep going. stopping half way only give chance for H. pylori to gain resistance and you'll need even more terrible antibiotics. only a few more days to go. Keep up the good work. think positive. by the way, you are right about one cure treats all. you may have some unknown inf...

Re: Can H.pylori in mouth cause reinfection?

as long as you are sure that your h. pylori has been eradicated, it is very hard to get reinfected. of course, basic hygiene is required to reduce the chances of true reinfection. H. pylori will not survive outside human body. It's sensitive to oxygen and it's very slow growing. slow growing means, ...

Re: Please advice on treatment

ANS1: it's hard to tell when you will start feeling better. but it can range from day 1 to months. Most people starts feeling better right after antibiotic stops. ANS2: 4 weeks after your treatment, without PPI for at least 2-3 weeks, you can do a follow up breath test. ANS3: it is possible that PPI...
