Re: Test soon, should I ask for exact test value?

Thanks again for your response. Once I call in for a test when the date comes, I'll ask for the exact raw data. I feel this will be helpful because I've been through six treatments and at this point, I really want to know HOW much the treatment worked, not just negative or positive. I cannot risk ha...

Test soon, should I ask for exact test value?

Hello again, Apologies for the multiple posts. I saw in a recent post where Helico Expert advised a user to find the exact test value of their H pylori test. I’m due for a stool test and I am wondering if I should ask for this and if so, how would I go about asking for this value? I think I once got...

Re: Burning pain in stomach after treatment

hmmm.. good question. I think pain is a very big topic itself. Perhaps it is better that you talk to your GP or specialist who can examine the source of the pain. I assume you have checked for stones, that can give you very sharp and intense pain. Thank you for your response. I've just contacted my...

Re: Burning pain in stomach after treatment

the symptoms may or may not be because of H. pylori. But the post treatment symptoms could be due to some damage done by H. pylori and can be difficult to heal. Anyway, the healing is subjective. Some people takes a few weeks. but some takes a few months or years. The general rule is, if you are in...

Re: Am I positive for H Pylori? GI-MAP Results

a few members have asked about GI-MAP before. Unfortunately it is not a recommended diagnostic test for H. pylori. They screen for the presence of Helicobacter DNA. I am not sure how specific their testing is. They may pick up some other Helicobacter closely related species DNA. Hence, the low quan...

Re: Burning pain in stomach after treatment

Thanks for your reply. I don't believe i've had much damage from my Hp because I've been on PPIs for a several years to suppress my infection, but maybe it could be. I guess I'll wait for my results to really find out.

Burning pain in stomach after treatment

Hello, I just finished my sixth treatment a week ago and I now have a burning feeling in my stomach after I eat, usually when I burp. . Is this normal? Last treatments I had, every time I had a burning feeling, I found out my infection wasn't cured, so I'm hoping this isn't the case. I read in other...

Re: Talicia (rifabutin, Amox, PPI) said to cause male infertility (can’t be true please)

Talicia is fairly new on the market. But the combination is not novel. PPI and amoxicillin is pretty safe. Rifabutin can be problematic to some people. Rifabutin is normally reserved for tuberculosis patients. Therefore, the widespread use of this drug may lead to resistance in TB. my other critici...

oh yes.. we have seen strains that are resistant to 3 or 4 antibiotics.
In your case, because you tried almost everything, the antibiotic sensitivity test will tell us which antibiotics can be reused.

One more question: does this mean another culture From a biopsy which means an endoscope?

Talicia (rifabutin, Amox, PPI) said to cause male infertility (can’t be true please)

I just found out in a study done on rodents that Talicia which I took to help cure my H pylori infection may cause infertility in male rodents, though after being given 32 times the dose for them. Is this true? I hate to know this treatment I took could do this to me. Maybe I didn’t read the sources...
