Re: H Pylori

famotidine will not affect breath/stool test. you can continue famotidine until the night before breath/stool test.

azithromycin is not good. So you need to stop for at least 3-4 weeks before breath/stool test.

Re: Can H Pylori be transmitted via burps?

it's not silly. H. pylori cannot be transmitted via breath or burping. It doesnt survive very well outside human body. It has to be intimate like kissing or sharing food. However, a simple teeth brushing is enough to clean up H. pylori in the mouth. So it's actually quite hard for adult to catch H. ...

Re: Urea Breath Test Follow-Up: 2 or 4 Weeks Post-Treatment?

This is a guideline how to use breath/stool test. https://helico.com/PYtest_guide_2013.pdf the reason for the wait is to give time for the "survival" H. pylori to grow up in mass. The longer you wait, the more H. pylori you will get, and hence the less likely you will get a false negative. Then agai...

Re: Positive biopsy in March → no specific treatment → Negative stool test November

It's rare to get a false positive from biopsy. "++" two pluses is almost 99.9% accurate. it's usually more common to get false negative from biopsy because the bacteria load is so low, the pathologist accidentally missed it. Then again, the inflammation will give the pathologist a hint to look harde...

Interesting. So did you ever get a positive result of H. pylori? how was it confirmed? There are very rare cases where PPI alone get rid of H. pylori. Perhaps you are very lucky.

Interesting observation!
It most probably what happened. Or perhaps because the immune system has two fronts to fight, your Covid-19 is less severe? Perhaps that's why the the developing countries have less severe Covid cases?

Interesting question about H. pylori and leukocytosis. I am not surprised if it does. Here is an article about it.

Re: H Pylori

it can happen. Some people can have acute massive immune response and H. pylori is not able to colonise the stomach.
